Hello, I am Deacon Larry Sousa, a founding member of Oklahoma Catholic Radio. Together with President Jeff Finnell we were led by the Lord God to establish the ministry of Catholic Broadcasting as an answer to Christ’s call to “Go make Disciples.”
Back in 2006 we received the enthusiastic encouragement and blessing of Archbishop Eusibius Beltran to go forth and “give it a try.” But, before he made that statement, he had a very good question: “ In view of the rapid development of electronic media, was radio still going to be around in the future?” Well, time has already answered that. Here it is fourteen years down the road and Catholic radio has grown and thrived across Oklahoma and in the entire USA! Another clergy member had a question when we explained that it would cost nearly one million dollars to acquire a radio station. This would help us reach our goal of providing outreach to the entire state. He said “How in the world do you expect to do that?” Our honest reply was, “Well, Father, we believe we can achieve this goal with the support of Almighty God and of His people. If a little old nun from Ohio can build a world-wide television and radio network, the two little old guys from Oklahoma should be able to achieve something!” I sincerely believe that you, our faithful listeners, and your support , with the grace of Godhave enabled us to acquire 14 stations in 14 years which today reach possible millions of disciples who are able, now to listen to the truth of the Gospel. Jeff Finnell and I and the entire volunteer board of directors want to encourage you to help us keep the faith and keep the blessing going through your faithful financial support. Your monthly pledge as a Keeper of the Airwaves is truly answering the call of Jesus Christ to “Go Make Disciples.” Thank you so much for being a part of this life changing ministry May Almighty God bless you.
