Sally Crowe Nash listens for the word of God in her life. Little did she know that in 2014, while volunteering to help at the Catholic Men’s Conference, God had a plan for her using the spoken word in radio. She discovered two men, Dcn. Larry Sousa and Fred Pope, whose familiar voices were frequently heard on Oklahoma Catholic Radio. These two, in turn, discovered in Sally a dedicated listener who wanted to volunteer for their airwaves’ ministry. Her appreciation for catechesis quickly landed her on the Board of OKCR where she continues to be an ardent advocate for Catholic radio in Oklahoma.
Sally as serves as OKCR liaison with our business sponsors. They are crucial for providing ongoing financial support for our radio station which serves 13 communities primarily in western and central Oklahoma. Sally values OKCR programming because it provides continuous encouragement for her spiritual life. She believes Christ’s continual forgiveness for our short comings shapes and reshapes our lives to bring forth the kingdom of heaven on earth.
Sally is inspired by those who routinely volunteer their financial resources so that OKCR can remain on the air. These financial supporters’ faithfulness to the mission of OKCR is a constant reminder to her that we are all strengthened by hearing the word of the Lord and increasing our knowledge of our Catholic faith.
Sally envisions even greater potential for OKCR to present music and the arts in new ways. She is hopeful that we can present new programs such as “Faith in 5 with Kid Catholic” which will appeal to our youth. Her excitement extends to OKCR’s plans to provide for the first-time live coverage for upcoming diocesan events within the next year.
